Sahlia Jewelry

I got to spend yesterday afternoon at the studio of Sahlia Michelle Jewelry Designs. I was picking out pieces for our shoot tomorrow. I had such a hard time trying to decide on the best ones, they were all so lovely!! And Sahlia herself is just a delight to work with! I've gathered together just a few of my favorites from her website. I can't wait to style these on our models tomorrow!

Aren't they all just beautiful?? I've dropped quite a few hints to DB that I would be happy to own with one of these pieces someday :) I think they are just the perfect combination of rustic and glamours. Quitenssentially Pacific Northwest, this local Portland jeweler has it spot-on!

shades vs. curtains HELP!

So, we're mostly settled into our new apartment. It's a garden style single story building with access to a community courtyard. We have windows on three sides of our space, which is amazing!! We get such beautiful light. However; this presents a couple of dilemmas. 1) window treatments are a necessity, all of our windows look right into our neighbor's apartments. 2) they all have the ugly, standard, white plastic mini-blinds

Now, I don't hate the blinds...I may be able to live with them if I'm able to distract the eye. We have a ton of windows (5 in the living room alone!), so replacing them could get really pricy. I've been looking at roller blinds and roman blinds...and I love them!! But can I afford them?? Can I DIY them??

Now, if money were no object, these blinds from Delia Shades (below) would be ideal. Aren't they all so lovely??

Originally, I was thinking that I would keep the blinds and hang burlap curtains...which would be waaaay cheaper, but I'd still have the plastic blinds!

What should I do?? Go with my first idea and hang curtains, or save my pennies to replace the blinds? HELP! :)

Book Bag

Just spotted these beautiful embroidered books by Olympia Le-Tan via Anthology. They are clutches! As in a mini handbag!! Such lovely details...I love the warm handcrafted feel.

This Lolita one is my favorite!

Trade Winds by The Society

Someday I'll actually be abel to visit The Society in real life. Until then, the ever-changing loveliness of the pictures online will be a source of inspiration. I'm just loving this "Trade Winds" theme. I'll take one of each. Of everything.

Tapestry. WOW

I just spotted these amazing tapestry-covered sculptures by Frederique Morrel over at Pattern People. This site is also a relatively new discovery for me and so far I'm loving it! The post goes on to talk about tapestry in fashion...but I'm just not sure I can get behind that. Check out my post over on ReStyle about it tomorrow. However, these designs are mind-blowing.
