Modern Classic Interior

I'm loving this shooting location...such a perfect example of modern elements placed within a historical structure. I just love it! And the quiet pallete with pops of unexpected color...just lovely!

This staircase literally took my breath away. And the emerald chandelier? And the detailed molding on the ceiling??? WOW! If ever I have a staircase like this I would count myself the luckiest girl ever! And I would wrap it in evergreen magnolia boughs at Christmas!

That shower is so amazing! I wonder if those pipes are heated??

the doors to that patio?? dreamlike!

Cardonizer!!

I just discovered the web page Cardonizer. It showcases the best of business card design...there are so many creative ideas out there; I though this was a pretty fun idea to gather the best all in one spot! I picked out some of my favorite designs below; wish I would've had these to look at when I designed mine a few months ago! It makes me want to start all over with a fresh new crop of ideas :)

I love the laser cut cards!

Moleskin notebook inspired!

I'm a sucker for hand-drawn fonts and this one is a winner in my book!!

I love the texture and simplicity of the black and white here.

and these ones are my very favorite of all! simple, timeless, and that great 'Catch Me if you Can' 60's feel. Tomorrow I'm off to the Design*Sponge Portland meet up! I'm so excited; I'll report back soon with details :)

Highland Retreat

I stumbled across these over at Inspace. A little vacation from my living room...so so lovely to hop across the pond! Everything about this cottage by the sea is cozy and warm. These were taken on a sunny day; but I imagine the 'cozy factor' would increase exponentially if there was a storm raging outside!

I love this fur on the floor (above) and that map below paired with the modern acrylic candlestick? So wonderful!

I don't know what it is about vintage stoves but they just round out a kitchen to perfection!

Love the soft white palette of this space.

Doesn't it make you just breath a sigh of relief? If you could bottle peace; this is where it would happen! Rumor has it, this little cottage isn't only available for photo shoots; it's also a vacation rental! Count me in...in my dreams :)

Alphabets and Ampersands

I'm a big fan of Jessica Hische over at Daily Drop Cap. She just announced that individual letter press prints from her lovely alphabet are available in her shop! I just love, love, love that ampersand!! Such a perfect color; and what a great design choice to deviate from the red and black palette just for that one special symbol.

The "C" and the "R" are two of my very favorites. I just think the dutch/folksy "C" is so fun. and the swirls on the "R"! Gorgeous!

Can I have one of each??

lovely

I've got weddings on the brain this week because my lovely friend Molly is getting married this weekend! I'm so excited :) I stumbled across this lovely invitation suite on 100 layer cake this morning. Isn't the typography just perfect?? A wonderful mix of modern and classic. I love the icy pink and the way the ladies at 100 layer cake paired it together with tulle, vintage tins, and perfume bottles. *sigh*

Have a beautiful weekend!

kiddo pictures

I got to take pictures in the park a few weeks ago of some of the cutest kids ever! Mom Ketty wanted fun, playful, candid shots. We had a great time just getting the kiddos to laugh and took pictures while they played together. I'm happy with some of the great cuddly shots we got!

Stay tuned for more family pics later this week! PS! I totally baked my first gluten-free cake the other night; it turned out great! I had so much batter left from the cake, I got a dozen cupcakes out of it too. The cupcakes were a bit dry; but the cake was really moist...yummy! I'm excited to figure out more recipes :)
