What I'm Reading

I know, I know, magazines don't really count as books in the real world...but this is my world and they totally count! All my fall magazines have come in the mail...right along side all the autumn catalogs...I have a STACK that I am slowly working my way through right now. Although; if I'm completely honest, I'm also a bit immersed in the world of Stephenie Meyer...

Oh Jackie...such a portrait of all-American timeless beauty. Will anyone ever pull it off again?

HELP!

I need a new tablecloth for fall...but I'm afraid that I may be in a bit of trouble with trying to even remotely match it to my dishes! I need input! Of these top three Etsy table cloths...which one should I get?? I have the turquoise fiesta dishes mixed with copper dinner dishes and black and white damask salad plates. All my mugs and glassware are thrifted. Help me pick!!!

I feel like this pale minty one would match my dishes great; but it's not at all fall. It is also reversible to mint on plain white...certainly the most diverse of my top 3 picks...

Chickens?! I know, right? But the gray...yellow...pink...I really like how 'now' these colors are and I feel like I could easily bring my copper and damask in with this.

So...this one is certainly the most fall of them all, but I'm just not 100% about it...maybe I need to see it in real life? Or do I just need some encouragement in the right direction??

So, this one below isn't actually a tablecloth at all...but a giant dishtowel. Of course it's the exact opposite of what I set out to look for...but I may not be able to pass it up! :)

Ok, so these last three tablecloths I really, really, really love...but they go with nothing else that I have; so I'm putting them out there in hopes they will be just what you are looking for and will find a loving home quickly! They deserve to be loved!

Thanks so much for helping me figure this out!! Maybe the solution is just to buy dishes for every season!!

The Great Indoors

Anthropologie just came out with some wonderful new hooks and drawer pulls as a part of their "The Great Indoors" home line.

This vintage-inspired library pull would be so great on one of these vintage crates from terrain to label/store some of my many craft supplies...now if only I could do calligraphy I could come up with one beautiful label!

I'm seriously contemplating that deer or squirrel hook to accompany my new prints. Just the right notes of modern classic. I think it would be the perfect catching point for a necklace or two...just out of the kitty's grasp...

These prints were a gift from hubby DB from Berkley Illustration. They have created some great characters, I don't know how he picked just these two; but I'm very happy with them!!

Mates of State

Mates of State is one of my all time favorite bands. I love rockin' out to this song. Everything's gonna get lighter, even if it never gets better! I just can't help but bounce. And to top off the great music, is one of the funnest music videos ever. Characters decked out in woodland-creature masks partaking in a vintage-inspired party? So great and complete with beautiful light and film. I really love seeing them in concert...her on the organs...him on the drums. Such a cute married couple complete with an adorable baby (who makes an appearance in this music video!). Watching them live, you can just see their connection...they barely take their eyes off each other...which makes their timing and harmonies all the more amazing. Definitely see them if you ever get the chance!

Sweaters and Stumptown

It is September and Autumn is just settling in here in Oregon...and that means it's sweater weather! Fall here also means coffee season...not that we haven't all been drinking it all summer; it just gets extra good on a wet foggy morning.

Both J.Crew I would be happy with either...or both...

Banana Republic
military cardigan. Wish it came in a charcoal...

Love this Cambridge Chain scarf from Yokoo. (thanks pam)

American Apparel Circle scarf...I think I need one in every color.

The classic rain-boot for the Portland rain...only this is Jimmy Choo's version of a Wellie.

All these cuddly clothes make me want to cuddle up with that amazing knit-ceramic mug and collapse with a cup of Stumptown in the lobby at the Ace. Oh Fall how I love thee!!

I suppose a wonderful backyard fireplace would do if my favorite coffee house wasn't open. Oregon is the perfect place to spend evenings outside...

Papergirl Portland

Papergirl #3 from Papergirl on Vimeo.

Papergirl is coming to Portland! Papergirl is a Berlin-based public art program that brings art to the masses 'in the style of American Paper-Boys, rolled art pieces are distributed by bicycle in the streets to random passers-by. Everyone can participate" Abraham of hoodturkey is bringing this event to Portland on October 18th. Contact him here to get involved. The deadline for art submission is coming up quick, September 14th! Donate some of your lovely work to make this project a success! All the art will premier on First Friday at Second Nature Gallery on October 1st before it is rolled up and handed out to the masses via bicycle delivery. I'm excited to contribute and, hopefully, help document the event with my camera.
